Meet David

Thank you!

The results are in, and even though the last votes are yet to be counted, the results are shaping up.

While we didn't win at the polls tonight, we sent a clear and positive message about the kind of community we want to see built here in the 26th District. And we sent a message about the kind of advocates that our community demands in the elected officials we send to Annapolis to represent us.

None of this could have been possible without your steadfast support and encouragement along the way. It has been an honor getting to know each and every one of you that I met along the way. I look forward to staying in touch with you in the coming days and months ahead.

Our work is not done.

God Bless,

The Washington Post Endorses David Sloan!

I have some great news to share. This morning The Washington Post endorsed David for Delegate in the 26th District! ocalls.

Here's what the Post had to say:
"A capable successor would be David Sloan, a former aide to Gov. Martin O’Malley and former head of the state Democratic Party. He offers a focus on public safety, economic development and education. He would bring a jolt of energy to the delegation rounded out by incumbents Kris Valderrama and Jay Walker."

There are two simple things you can do to get the word out:

  1. Please forward this post to everyone you know that either lives in the district or might be interested in making a contribution.
  2. Please consider making a contribution by clicking here - so that we can afford to get the word out with mailings and rob

Have you seen our new video?

Have you seen our new video yet? It's a chance to introduce myself and our campaign to voters in the 26th District - and you can click here to check it out. If you like what you see I hope you'll take a moment to forward this along to a few friends or share it on Twitter and Facebook.

And of course, I hope that I can count on your contribution so that we can afford to keep getting our message out: everyday Marylanders deserve an advocate for schools, jobs, affordable health care and stronger communities.

Together, we are building a more focused, engaged, and united community - and one with a powerful advocate in Annapolis. But we can't do it without your voice.

Celebrating Black History Month by Looking to the Future

40under40_640.jpgI look forward every February to reflecting on the achievements of black Americans and their role in the history of our nation.  I take pride in telling my son about the great leaders of the past and how they helped paved the way for the rest of us. This year I decided to embrace the next generation of leaders.

What Are You Doing for Others?

MLK_Day_Pic.jpgDr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once pointed out that, “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, ‘What are you doing for others?’ Community engagement is what drives my passion for politics. My years of public service have taught me that people matter and when we are united we can be powerful agents of change.

The Journey Begins...

Wednesday, January 8, 2014 was a very special day. It marked the beginning of the 434th Legislative Session in Maryland’s history. Over the next 90 days, Senators and Delegates from across Maryland will be in Annapolis debating and voting on critical bills that impact people in every city, county, and district in the State.
