Community First Rally and Campaign Launch for David Sloan

Today, David Sloan announced he is hosting a “Community First” campaign rally and canned food drive. The rally will be held on Saturday, November 16th at 2:00pm, and will serve as the launch of his campaign for Maryland Delegate from District 26.  The event will take place at the Prince George’s Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex in Oxon Hill. 

Today, David Sloan announced he is hosting a “Community First” campaign rally and canned food drive. The rally will be held on Saturday, November 16th at 2:00pm, and will serve as the launch of his campaign for Maryland Delegate from District 26.  The event will take place at the Prince George’s Southern Regional Technology and Recreation Complex in Oxon Hill. 

 “I believe in the power of good people coming together to make positive changes in our community,” David Sloan said.  “As your advocate in District 26, we will unleash a new and aggressive standard of community and engagement and pursue policies that put our Community First.”

Guest speakers already announced include former Delegate & Pastor Reverend Kerry Hill, former Delegate David Valderrama and other leaders from the 26th District, Prince George’s County and the State of Maryland. Entertainment will be provided by COLOURS Performing Arts.

The Community First Rally will also feature a canned food drive to benefit those in need in the District 26 community during the upcoming holiday season. All canned food will be donated to food pantries located in District 26.

David is a lifelong resident of Prince George’s County and a product of Prince George’s County Public Schools.  He attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts where he studied business and vocal theory; and was the founding President of the College’s Student Government Association. In 2001 he began his political career as an intern for County Councilwoman Dorothy Bailey and on a campaign for Major Riddick. Since then, David has been at the forefront of electing proven leadership and building stronger communities; including as a senior advisor to many successful local and statewide campaigns including Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Governor Martin O’Malley. David served as the Executive Director of the Maryland Democratic Party during the historic campaign to re-elect President Barak Obama. David is a member of the First Baptist Church of Glen Arden.

The rally is open to the entire community.
